Softball Lineup Card & Template

Free printable softball lineup card and lineup template for fastpitch and slowpitch. Type your batting order with jersey numbers and positions, add the bench, choose how many batters you list, and print lineup cards for the umpire, the other team, your dugout and the scorekeeper. Leave it empty for a blank softball lineup template.

Fastpitch and slowpitch lineups

  • Fastpitch: nine starters, often with the DP/FLEX rule. List the DP (designated player) in the batting order and the FLEX at the bottom, who plays defense without batting.
  • Slowpitch: ten fielders, usually with four outfielders (LF, LCF, RCF, RF) or a short fielder (SF). Many leagues add an extra hitter (EH) or bat the whole roster, so choose up to 15 batting order rows.
  • Co-ed slowpitch: most leagues require alternating men and women in the batting order. Write the order exactly as you will bat.

How to fill out a softball lineup card

  1. One line per player in batting order: jersey number, name, position, for example 12 Ava SS.
  2. Positions: P, C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, LF, CF, RF, plus DP, FLEX, EH, SF, LCF and RCF where your league uses them.
  3. List the bench with jersey numbers so substitutes are eligible.
  4. Hand one copy to the plate umpire and one to the opposing coach before the game. Write substitutions in the Sub column with the inning.
