The formula is n × (n − 1) ÷ 2. For sixteen teams that’s 16 × 15 ÷ 2 = 120 games. Each team plays 15 of them. A double round robin (everyone plays everyone twice, home and away) doubles that to 240 games and 30 games per team.

How long does a 16-team round robin take?

It depends on game length and how many courts or fields you have. With 30-minute games on one court, 120 games take about 60 h 00 min. With 8 courts you can play a whole round at once, so the event takes 15 × 30 = 7 h 30 min plus breaks. Use the Courts / fields option in the generator to get court numbers for every game.

Round robin or bracket?

A round robin guarantees every team 15 games, which is why it’s popular for leagues, pickleball socials and pool play.
